When you try to become someone you want to be, you’ll most likely end up wanting to be someone of high social conformity. There might be some room for doubt whether it’s someone you truly want to be. I think it is just the result of social education that manipulates individuals to be like that as constituents of society.

[Logline] A middle-aged man, with a chronic back pain, notices a small green smear on his back that transforms into an unknown creature, which, following a series of entangled events, will evolve into a threat to the survival of the entire human race. [Dramatic question] Can humans find the answer to the mystery of unknown creatures and survive despite all the predicaments?

Name: Tanaka Kensuke Sex: male Age:46 Appearance: Height 175cm Slender, thin hair, pale, dainty, poorly dressed, looks tired Character: quiet, soft, shy, timid, don’t-rock-the-boat attitude, doesn’t have many friends Job: sales representative He looks like a usual middle aged person. The first victim of the parasitic creature. He started having a back pain about three months earlier before he died.
Name: Goto Kenichi Sex: male Age: 35 Appearance: Height 160cm Well built, trying to look smart, sweaty. Wears a shirt and jacket all the time. Character: friendly, talkative, tanned skin, curious Job: journalist working for a local news paper. He came across the video of Kensuke filming his own condition after he found himself being infested by the unknown creature, and will start investigating it.
Name: Ito Jun Sex: female Age: 21 Appearance: Height 160cm Slender, long and narrow eyes, short bob Character: competitive, stubborn, strong-minded Job: undergraduate majoring in biogenetics She ends up working with Kenichi on the investigation of the unknown creature cases by tapping into her knowledge on biogenetics and the connection with other scientists.
Unknown creatures Sex:unknown Age:unknown Appearance: The body shape is similar to a mantis, with a light green color, but much larger than a usual one(30 cm long, maybe). Their eggs are spawn in human bodies in an unknown way. During the juvenile period, they grow inside human bodies while being fed with human flesh. Namely, they are parasitic in humans. When coming to the adult stage, they come out from the human bodies, digging a hole, which leads to a fatal injury for the victims, if multiple individuals inhabit at the same time. The creature’s reproduction cycle is very fast. Only a couple of weeks takes them to grow from an egg to an adult, and they will spawn eggs to other humans. Their propagation spreads like the infection of a virus in a way that resembles a pandemic.

It was a transition, like being in a cocoon. Almost suffocating. I became obsessed with a thin strip of sunlight slipping through a crack in that tiny shell. I called it hope. I called it a future.
And now, as 2025 ends, I’m choosing to tear through that old skin and step into the wild with nothing but my own wings.
Why?
Just to breathe fresh air. Just to feel alive on my own terms, with my own freedom and responsibility.
That’s what I want more than anything now.
