I’m sure my house isn’t haunted.
「もちろん、私の家に幽霊なんか出るはずがない」
以前にも書きましたが、「six words」のサイトの投稿にはバックストーリー（何を見て、何を思ってその詩を書いたか）も合わせて投稿できるのですが、次のような文が添えられていました。
My housemates are convinced our house is haunted. I’ve lived here for 274 years and not noticed anything strange.
「私の家の住人たちは、この家には幽霊が出ると思い込んでいます。私はここに274年も住んでいますが、何もおかしなことは感じたことがありません。」
野暮な解説をすると、この詩の投稿者が実は幽霊だった、というアメリカンジョークでした。これもハロウィンらしい詩ですね。

帰り道、ちょっとした暴露療法にチャレンジ💪
今週末、友達と少し閉塞感のありそうな（でもとても雰囲気のいい）場所でランチの予定があるので、似たような雰囲気のカフェでひとりランチしてみました🍽️
最初はソワソワして呼吸が浅くなってるかも？
と感じたけど、お薬を飲まずに大丈夫でした。
あったかくて美味しいごはんを食べ始めたら、
自然と呼吸が深くなって安心感も戻ってきてっ😊
週末に体調を崩していたので少し不安だったけど、今日はちゃんと乗り越えられました。
そして何より……
今日のランチ、とっても美味しかったです😋

Just finished my 4th acupuncture session today.
On the way home, I decided to challenge myself a little with exposure therapy.
I’m planning to have lunch with friends this weekend at a lovely spot that might feel a bit enclosed,
so I tried a solo lunch at a similar place to see how I’d do.
At first, I felt a bit restless and noticed my breathing was shallow—
but I didn’t need to take any meds.
Once I started eating my warm and delicious meal, my breathing naturally deepened and I felt much more at ease.
I had been feeling a bit off over the weekend, so I was worried,
but I’m really glad I was able to overcome it today.
And most importantly… the lunch was absolutely delicious. 😋
Grateful for small victories and good food.✨

Without a word, he let her into the back seat…
その昔…
真夜中の出来事
道端にひっそりとたたずむ姿に気づき
あるタクシー運転手がその女性を後部座席に乗せたという…
After a while, the cab entered a tunnel.
And when it came out the other side…
the woman was no longer visible in the rearview mirror.
The driver pulled over, opened the back door—she was gone.
All that remained was the backseat—drenched in water.
しばらくしてからトンネルに差し掛かり
そして抜けたらバックミラーに彼女の姿がない
車止めて後部ドアを開け確認すると…
ただぐっしょりと濡れたシートが残されていた
Not long after, the driver was struck with a sudden, intense fever.
He spent days in bed, drenched in sweat—just like that backseat.
その後その運転手は
高い高熱に何日もうなされたという…
やがてベッドが汗でぐっしょりとなり
それはまるで あの時の後部座席のように…
It’s a local legend from Wakayama
—where I’m from.
I bet a lot of people have heard it at least once.
僕の地元和歌山での結構な有名ばなし
聞いたことある人多いんじゃないかなぁ
