I came across these Confusing Phrases:
Choose Out of the box; 箱の中から選ぶ
Choose Outside of the box; 箱の外から選ぶ

The former was a bit hard to get the picture, but then I remembered "Out" implies the movement: inside → outside, and that finally made the sence in my mind [キラッ]

今日、ちょっと紛らわしい表示を見かけました。
1つ目の文は少しイメージが掴みにくかったけど、Out が中から外への動きを表すことを思い出して、やっと頭の中で理解でしました ✨️

So the former implies to take smething from inside the box to outside, not only to choose!
By the way, the latter also seems to have a ideomatic meaning.

つまり、Choose out of the box はただ選ぶんじゃなくて箱の中から外へ取り出す、つまり選び出すって意味だったんですね！
それと、後者は慣用句としての意味もあるらしいですね.

最近サインアップとログインのシステムを試作しながら学んでたんだけど、ログイン状態の維持の仕方で躓いて、コーディングが進まない[大泣き]

大きく分けて、サーバー側で管理するセッション方式とユーザー側で管理するJWTに分かれるらしいんだけど、結局どっちがいいんだろう？

個人的にはサーバーに負担の掛からないJWTが好みだけど、デメリットも多くて、実装しやすいセッション方式にしたい気持ちもある…

My dad and I are complete opposites when it comes to medicine.

My father says, "I don't want to rely on medicine."
He's really healthy 一 the type who almost never gets sick and proudly avoids taking any medication. He even comments on it when I take my allergy medicine.

But whenever he catches cold, he's the first to ask, "Where's the medicine?"
It always makes my mom mad.
And the irony never fails to make me laugh[泣き笑い]

Today I popped into TULLY's and tried this unfamiliar coffee called Café au Lait Monire.
It said "café au lait" on the menu, so I thought it would have milk and ordered it 一 but it turned out to be black coffee with that name!
I was kinda surprised, but it was actually pretty good and easy to drink for a black coffee.
The name comes from the fact that it goes well with milk.
I'm ganna buy a bag of the beans and try it with milk next time.

I realized that my understanding of the main meanings of "bright" and "brilliant" was slightly off.
When hearing and seeing the words, for some reason, the first meaning that comes to mind for me is not shining or glowing, but "wise".
I don't think that's their primary meaning.
I wonder why the image to being wise comes to mind first, but it's certain that meaning has made a strong impression on me.

なんか、ただ好きな見た目がいいアプリが作りたい。
ホワイトボードや冷蔵庫に付箋を貼り付けたり、直接メモを書いて情報共有するようなアプリが作りたい。

多分機能性はほぼ無い。LINEとかの方がよっぽど使いやすい。けどなんか楽しい、現実でやるようなのを簡略して再現した、ゲームみたいな見た目のアプリが作りたい。

こういうのって需要あるんだろうか、
あるとすればどこだろう……。

I used to hear that "sleepy" sounds childish, so it's better to use "tired" instead.
However, when I asked a native if that was true, most of them answered "maybe, but we use." They mean, we can say it to our boss in our office.

I'm so confused! Which is the right answer after all!?

最近同じ関数ばっかり何度も組み直してて、なんだか終わりが見えなくなってきた。

こだわってる訳じゃないけど、汎用性を持たせたくて書き方を変えてみたり、変数名を分かりやすくしてみたり、そんな工夫を続けてたら気づいたら1種間過ぎてた[溶ける]

単純な経験不足を実感したし、意識することもかなり増えた。今後のプログラミングに活かせたらいいな。

I just saw the sentence "This s**t killed me" written on a funny video. Do you get it?

Actually it means "this video made me laugh out aloud." it’s like, if a friend sends you a video of a joke and it’s really funny, you can say they’re killing you.

I know it's a kinda swear word, but I like such the phrase for real.

Don’t you think English has a lot of expressions that feel kind of misleading?
For example, I have nothing or It’s taller than neither of them or something like that!
I’m used to the way expressions using the word nothing now, but I still struggle with expressions that look positive at first and then turn out to have a negative meaning.
If that showed up on a test, it would definitely feel like a trap question.

I’m studying English and programming, but I don’t have enough time ffr either because I have many ideas for things I wanna create many programming languages I wanna learn.

Some influencers sometimes says, "don't use this word or sentence!" But isn't that an extreme way to tell learners?

Now I understand they mean to stop using that word or sentence anytime, anywhere, and try to use more appropriate words instead.
However, they don't convey the full meaning.
Because, when I heard that, I thought we must not use them again.
There must be others who have experienced the same thing.

That line is simple and impressive. However, it may make the words given at the beginning seem worse than they realize.

I’m not picky, but I usually get shoyu, tonkotsu or salt ramen. Menma and char siu are most-haves. And I prefer a little hard thin noodle.

Sometimes I find it difficult to talk with someone in a language other than Japanese.

I usually post questions about English on an app named HiNaive.
Once I asked how to compliment someone without saying good and for various ways to say it. One person suggested me many words and slangs, and explained that Awesome means “so good” and “average”.
So I appreciated and replied with “awesome”. I meant so good, but he replied, “do you mean average?”
He seemed to have taken it to mean “not bad”.

Then I thought he was just kidding me, but he’s told me some better ways to say good, I regretted a little not using one of them.

名前の由来はPoly(多くの) + Curiosity(好奇心)からつけました！

本当に多趣味で、絵を描いてみたり、音楽とかゲーム、漫画も好きで、最近は英語勉強や数年前にプログラミングを習い始めてから簡単なゲームやアプリなんか作ったりもしてます！
他には、友達とよくスポーツをしたり、たまに少し遠出したり。
あとは、暇さえあれば推しの歌配信ばっかり見てます！笑

今日挙げた中で最近熱が入っているのは、英語とプログラミングと音楽と推し活です！
