Buddha stopped off at a village and met a desperate woman whose son had died of a sickness some time before.

She loved him so much and couldn't forget the little six-year-old boy, so she had desperately been looking for a means to cure him from death and to see him alive.

She approached Buddha as he ended his sermon among a crowd of villagers, and asked him how she could bring her son back from death. With an enigmatic smile, Buddha gave her an instruction:

"Go obtain a handful of poppy seed but from someone who has never lost any of his or her family members or relatives by death."

Encouraged by his words, full of hope, she set off visiting people to get the seed. After going around her village, she moved to a neighboring village one after another, asking all the people she met about the seed.

She found some who had it but no one who didn't have an experience of death of their family or relatives. In the process of her exploration, she got to see many people with a lot of sorrow stories of the separation from their loved husbands, wives, sons, daughters, or parents.

After being exhausted of the search, she came to the conclusion that it would be impossible to achieve her task. However, she was aware that she had learned about something that she didn't know before, and realized that she didn't feel a scorching pain in her heart any longer.

She seemed to regain calmness and a gentle smile back on her face, and began to walk toward her village with not energetic but steady strides .

Is "hikikomori" a new kind of modern sickness?
I want to ask a Japanese social problem which is called as Hikikomori. It means social withdrawal in English.I recently met a Japanese social activist who saves those people. And I joined a Japanese children organization which gather children can't go out or can't go to their school.I reported it to two Americans, they didn't get my story. And I asked it to them, they answered that they don't know such a story in the US.I was confused for it.Refusal from school is the biggest problem in Japan. How about in your country?

The tapestry of my life, once vibrant and whole, begins to unravel, thread by fragile thread. The patterns I knew, the colors I loved, fade and fray, leaving behind a tattered remnant of what was. I reach out to grasp the threads, but they slip through my fingers like grains of sand.

Even in sickness, love blossoms. Even in pain, peace takes root. a testament to the enduring strength of the human spirit.
