パンチやキックなどの打撃技と、相手の関節に負荷をかけて動きを封じる関節技がぶつかり合う状況や、
それらを組み合わせた格闘技のスタイルを指し、MMA（総合格闘技）やプロレス、一部の武道（柔道・空道など）で重要な要素であり、
打撃で距離を詰め、投げから関節技へ移行する流れが実戦的とされますが、関節技は危険性も伴うため、ルールによって許容範囲が異なります。
打撃技と関節技の特徴
打撃技（Striking）:
パンチ、キック、肘打ち、膝蹴りなど。
相手にダメージを与え、KOを狙う。
立ち技格闘技（ボクシング、キックボクシング、ムエタイなど）やMMAの主要な要素。
関節技（Joint Lock/Submission）:
肘関節、肩関節、足関節などを逆方向に極める。
相手に激痛を与え、タップ（降参）を奪う。
柔道（肘関節のみ）、ブラジリアン柔術、MMAなどで使われる。
打撃と関節技の相互関係
距離と流れ: 打撃で相手を追い込み、中間距離から投げ技（タックルなど）でテイクダウンし、グラウンド（寝技）に移行して関節技を狙うのが一つの流れ。
MMA（総合格闘技）: 立ち技（打撃）と寝技（関節技・絞め技）の全てを組み合わせた競技で、最も実践的とされ、空道のように顔面打撃や頭突きも許容する武道もある。
プロレス: 打撃、投げ技、関節技を多彩に組み合わせ、観客を魅せるエンターテイメント要素も強い。
安全性と実戦性
実戦性: 打撃と関節技（投げ技含む）を総合的に使える「打・投・極（打撃・投げ・極め）」を体得している者が強いとされます。
危険性: 関節技は即座にタップしないと重い傷害に繋がるため、実戦では非常に効果的ですが、競技によっては安全のため禁止・制限されることが多い（例：柔道での肘関節技以外は禁止）。
つまり、「打撃対関節技」は、単なる技の対決だけでなく、打撃で有利な状況を作り出し、関節技でフィニッシュするという、格闘技における攻防の総合的な構図を表す言葉です。
