clipping.はラッパーのDaveed DiggsにプロデューサーのJonathan SnipesとWilliam Hutsonという3人編成。元々はSnipesとHutsonがギャングスタ・ラップのアカペラに独自のビートを足していくリミックス・プロジェクトとしてスタートしたそうだが、2010年にHutsonと小学校時代からの幼馴染だったDiggsが参加して本ユニットへと発展。2013年にデビュー・アルバム『Midcity』をネット上に公開したところ大きな支持を得て、そこから半年も経たないうちにSub Popと契約。今回の新作の発表へと至る。ちなみにDiggsは舞台役者としての経験があり、Snipesは映画音楽を手がけ、Hutsonはノイズ・ミュージシャンとしても活動。SnipesとHutsonはキューブリック監督の伝説のホラー映画『The Shining』を徹底検証したドキュメンタリー『Room237』のサントラのスコアを担当している。あと、ノイズまみれのライヴ・パフォーマンス↓もかなりカッコいい。

I’m gonna write this, just because I want to organize my thoughts and get my mind clear. AND 140 letters isn’t enough for me to rant my thoughts about you!
I still remember the first time you came into my life. My friend, who was already into Nijisanji livers, told me there is a Vtuber who loves Vocaloid. At first I was like, “Ok, let’s see how much knowledge and love this Vtuber has for Vocaloids. I’m sure his love won’t go over mine, and I’m sure he’s going to sing 千本桜 and be like I love Vocaloids💕” Then when I saw a clipping from your karaoke stream, I was shocked when I saw you singing上弦の月. The song selection itself was very maniac and your voice matched the song dead point. From that day, you became my first ever Vtuber oshi.
As I watched your streams over time, I started to appreciate your thoughts and personalities a lot. You were like a sun, always soft and warm, and gave positive words whenever someone needed it. Your words always stood by someone, which is something not a lot of people can do.
And I loved your wotaku personality so much, there was so many things I empathized with!
It’s really hard to see you leave, but it was comforting to know that you prioritized yourself above anything. I know this was a hard decision for you to make, so thank you for being courageous and taking the time to love yourself.
I will deeply miss you and hope you have a great journey ahead. For now, please stay safe and let your heart rest as much as it needs.
