Shitty Nights
Sometimes you can have a good day
A great day, even.
You'd have no reason to be blue
Because for once, nothing actually went wrong.
Still, soothing as the tea is on a cold winter's day,
Night falls, and thoughts run free.
You'd have had a perfect day, until your thoughts got in the way.
It's tough.
Why it happens, you wouldn't know;
How it happens, you're none the wiser.
But it still does, and you're stuck with your thoughts.
The thought strikes you. Literally.
Tainting your day, your perfect day, with meaningless doubts and irrational fears.
And just like that, it's ruined.
You never meant it,
You didn't want it,
You certainly didn't plan it.
It just happens.
And then you go to bed, hoping for a better day tomorrow as you always do,
Almost like clockwork.
Hoping, praying even, for a good day
With a better ending.
But for now, you shrug and go to sleep.
It's just one of those shitty nights.

This morning before going to work, I was watching the women's marathon at the World Athletics Championships Tokyo 2025 and something struck me... About aesthetics = the philosophy of sensibility... Sensibility is something that can be clearly recognized but cannot be explained... For example, the idea of beauty certainly exists as a common recognition among people, but it is not possible to clearly explain "Why something that we perceive as beautiful is beautiful？"... This morning, while watching the women's marathon, I felt a certain aesthetic in it.

0072:DAVID LEE ROTH/A LITTLE AIN'T ENOUGH
Released in 1991, this third album was recorded with newly discovered ex-Cacophony guitarist Jason Becker, who had left the band Steve Vai. The rhythm section continues to be the Bissonnette brothers.
With the new talent Jason Becker, Diamond Dave was about to shine even brighter. But, in the middle of recording, Jason was diagnosed with ALS at a very young age. The recording session was completed, but the band was unable to go on tour.
After the release of the album, the band embarked on a world tour, mainly in Europe.
The band members include John Holmes, ex-Lizzy Borden, who replaced Jason. On bass is Todd Jensen, ex-HARDLINE. On drums is Greg Bissonette, who has recorded and toured on three albums.
In terms of chart action, the album only reached #18 in the US, but was well received in Europe, reaching #9 in Norway, #5 in Switzerland, and #1 in Finland.
This album is underrated, but it is an excellent album for DLR to make after their two previous albums. It is certainly less flashy, but more than that, in my opinion, it expresses a different side of him and points in the right direction for mature rock.

辛抱強くものを考えられる人間は苦しい夜を過ごすものです
それでどこぞの馬の骨が疑いもなく守るような決まりごとを破ってしまうことになるのです
好んでそうするのではないのです 怖いのです
だから人と違うことをしてしまうのです
忙しない日々の中で苦々しい思いばかりしているあなた
癇癪を起こし 正しいことは全然できず そうして酒を飲む
その生活が少しずつ妙案を生んでゆく
ちょっとばかり自惚せ上がっても構いません
しかし
あなたはいずれ思い切ッてゆかねばならない
人から着るよう催促される装いなどというものは
センスも悪いしまた値も張るものです
群れて生きる気ならそれも良いでしょう
その代わり
人と違う人間を金輪際笑ってくれるな
