Today I visited the Terracotta Warriors Museum, Xi’an, China. I had seen pictures of them in Japanese history textbooks, but this was the first time I saw them in person. They were on an unimaginable scale, completely different from the images in the textbooks, and I was impressed by the influence of the first Qin Emperor.
