To unburden the heart is seldom a simple thing.

Most grievous is the attempt when one’s words must traverse the gulf between disparate estates of thought — where values stand so estranged that what is spoken in candour is received as naught but reproach.

Yet there is a strange virtue in the ripening of one’s cares, in the sharpening of the very questions that weigh upon the soul.

Still, such refinement exacts its price: speech grows ponderous, and what once fell lightly from the tongue now drags with unspeakable gravity.

Thus is fashioned another sorrow, subtle yet inescapable, that clings to the spirit like a shadow.

And so it remains a mystery—known only to the few, and understood by fewer still.

Honestly, I feel like only CECIL would get it. I’ve kinda gotten way too “Japanese” in a bad way. And that’s coming from me, even though I’m working at a foreign company and supposedly trying to escape all that.

Of course, that means I’m always caught in comparisons, but thanks to that I was able to escape a shitty environment. And even though I can’t measure up to Cecil, I’ve managed to build a decent life for myself.

Thank you. I was trying to write it with the image of an English-style poem, so I’m glad you praised it. In my case, my thoughts are often out of sync with others, and to them it may come across as sarcastic.
